• Available stock
• Replenishment activities
• Make-to-order production
• External suppliers (drop-ship)
• Fromanother warehouse (stock transfer).
When the sales order schedule line checks for available stock, it will
try to confirm materials for the entire quantity required to meet the
customer’s delivery due date. The system will try to confirm this date,
with consideration given to the time lines of the internal processing
schedule listed inthe schedule line details.
R/3 may find only a partial amount of material to meet the required

If the schedule line is not able to confirm available materials, then a

The transfer order can be viewed as an instruction that states where a
material is to be moved from, and where it is to be moved to. These
instructions are designated as the source location and a destination

commonly referred to as a pick ticket.
A transfer order is created for the organizational element, warehouse.
During the transfer ordercreationprocess, only the delivery itemsthat
