Figure 69: Customer Master and Account Group
The account group controls the amount of data and the response of customer
master records.
Account groupsare alreadydefinedin thestandard SAP system, such as0001
Sold-toparty,0002Ship-toparty,0003Payer,andsoon. . .
Youcancreateadditional accountgroupsasnecessary.
Whenyou definetheaccount group, youdetermine:
• Foreachdatafield,whetheritisdisplayedornotandwhethermaintenance
is mandatory, optional, or not possible
• The number range
• Anumber of other control elements, such asfor partners andtexts of the
customer master.
Example:
A customer master record for a customer who only acts as a ship-to party
(created with account group 0002) requiresinformation relevant for shipping.
Billing information is not required, which iswhy the corresponding fields are
not displayed.
Incontrast to the account group, which controls acustomer master record, the
partner function determineswhich partner assumesspecificbusiness functions
within the sales process.
