Parallel Hierarchies
A dimension defines a specific expression of group reporting, for example,
companyconsolidation,businessareaconsolidation,orprofitcenterconsolidation.
Dimension-specific:
Organizational units, control data
Non-dimension-specific:
Consolidationchartsofaccounts,consolidationversions. Thedatafromdifferent
views can be analyzed together in reports.
The consolidation units and groups are hierarchically assigned to a top
consolidation group.
Adimensionalwayscontainsatleastonehierarchystructure.
You can define several hierarchies within a dimension according to different
legal or internal requirements. For example, the“businessareaconsolidation”
dimension could include:
• Amodelofthebusinessareaswithregardtothelegalcompanies.
• Abreakdownofthecorporategroupbycorporatearea.
