Foranefficientsystemofcontrolling,youoftenneedtogrouptogetherorderswith
similarcharacteristicsandanalyzethemasagroup. Youcanusethesummarization
characteristicstocreatetotalsrecords. Youcanexecutesummarizationreportsfor
thesevaluesfasterthanwhenyouusetotalsrecordsfromtheselectedorders. If
youhavealargenumberofordersyouneedtouseordersummarization.
Youcanspecifythestructureofyouranalysisbydefiningahierarchy. Eachlevel
ofthehierarchyisrepresentedbyacharacteristic. Notethatthecontrollingareais
always the first level of the hierarchy.
Youcansummarizebothcosts(plannedcosts,actualcosts,resultsanalysisdata)
and quantities (input and output quantities).
Thedefinitionofasummarizationhierarchydetermineswhichfieldsareusedin
summarizationand whichobjectsaresummarized.
Thelevelsofthesummarizationhierarchyarecreatedusingmasterdatafields.
Theavailablemasterdatafieldsarealreadypredefinedinthesystem.

Themasterdatafieldsaredistributedoverninepredefinedgroupboxes. Youcan
displayorhidethefieldswithinthegroupboxesandsetthemas"Required"or
"Optional" entry fields.
Thegroupbox“GeneralData”islocatedintheordermasterdata. Itcomprises10
fieldsanditscontentsareforinformationpurposesonlyandhavenoeffectonthe
orderfunctions. Youcanenterinformationinthesefieldswhichhelpyouclassify
theorder. Youcanalsousethesefieldsforsummarization.
Forexample,youcanusethesefieldstoselectorders. However,pleasenotethat
thesystemdoesnotcheckwhethertheentriesinthesefieldsarevalidorconsistent.

as a description.
SpecifyintheDatascope(objecttypes)that youonlywant tosummarize

2. AcceptthesettingsfortheDatascope(totalsrecords).

ordersinaccordancewiththespecifiedcharacteristicsandcomputesatotal for

hierarchy group to a summarization object.
Youcanscheduleabackgroundprocessforthesummarizationrunoruseparallel
processing,ifyouhavealargenumberoforderswithinyourhierarchy.
Theinformationsystemincludesspecialreportsforinternalordersummarization
objects.
Youcanusethesummarizationreporttonavigatebetweenallordersinallorder
typesforallcompanycodesinonegivencontrollingarea. Onaselectedlevelyou
canalsouseanotherreporttoshowthedataofthatlevelinadifferentway.
Pleasenotethatifanorderiscreatedandpostedafterthesummarizationrun,it
doesnotappearinthehierarchy. Inthiscase,youhavetorunthesummarization
again.
