Trigger Purchase Requisition creation from Sales Order

Hi experts,
I need your advice, how to configure the MRP settings in the material master if I want to create PRs when a sales order is created. The PR is a stock transfer from a production plant. We used MRP type PD and Strategy make to order but it is not working. Appreicate your help.

Hi all,
Thank you for answering my queries. It seems that we are also missing the Info record for this material and plant too. Do you think this is the root cause why no PRs are created or is the Info record not necessary to create PRs?

Hi,
Please use item category TAS. Refer the below screen from a sales order..
Customizing setting
t code:VOV7
You can create automatic PO creation.
Item category has to be assigned is sales order type.

Hi Michael,
I have never testes but please check Schedule line category in VOV6. This is used for third party but you can for standard stock transfer PR if it automatically triggers the creation of Purchase Requisition.
Order Type NB
Item Category 7
Acct Assgt Cat. C
Also make necessary assignment for the schedule line category (Item category+MRP Type) determination.

Hi Michael
We have to change the item category as TAS during the sales order creation, then the system automatically creates the Purchase Requisition while saving the sales order.

Thank you all for your answers. There was a problem with the strategy group assigned to the material and now it is fixed.

Yes, I can share it. The Strategy group of the material was 10 and we changed it to 40. Now it works fine.

Hi Michael,
Strategy group 40 will help to create sales order. But the remaining setting (sales order to PR) has to be created in Sales order level. I think earlier you are unable to create sales order as you were using strategy 10 (pure make to stock).
