Lesson: Using Allocations in FI-SL
Lesson Duration: 70 Minutes
258
Lesson Overview
This lesson starts with a definition of the term allocation. Then, the lesson
explains the use of the different types of allocations. The lesson gives you an
insight into the sender and receiver values. You will also learn how to create
and execute an FI-SL cycle.
Lesson Objectives
After completingthislesson, you will beable to:
• Define the term allocation
• Use the different types of allocation
• Define sender and receiver values
• Create and execute an FI-SL cycle
Explain the definition of the term allocation, which is the umbrella term for
distribution and assessment. Then, explain the use of the different types of
allocations. Elaborateon the sender andreceiver values. Demonstrate how to
create and execute an FI-SL cycle.

Sender and Receiver Information
Allocations: Sender and Receiver
Youmustdefinesenderandreceiverrulestoallocatecosts.
For thesender, you specify whether posted amounts(actualor planvalues), or
fixedamounts(actual or planvalues)aretobeallocated, or whether aresidual
percentage valueshould remain on the sender.
In the receiver rules, you specify whether the allocation is to be performed
accordingtofixedvalues(amounts,percentagerates,andportions)orwhetherthe
tracingfactorsareto bedeterminedfrompostedvalues(or quantities), suchas
accounts,activitytypes,andstatisticalkeyfiguresduringtheallocation.
Explaintheinheritanceprinciple(Sender→Receiver).
Receiver Tracing Factor
Receiver tracing factors. Examples:
Statistical key figures(for example, number of employees), revenue accounts,
sold number of pieces...
Sender Values
Separation of records to be read for the determination of the sender amounts
(sendervalues)andtherecordstobecredited(sender). Examples:
An alternative version, different TC amounts but credited by means of DEM
amount, other account balances, and so on.
